  • So, you’re afraid of AdSense Banning.

    Add to Mixx!

This is yet another entry I don’t want to write. But don’t worry kids at home, I have something incredible saved up for tomorrow. Look for it around 5:00 EST. I want to release it when it’s prime time for Digg.

But for now, I’m going to answers some questions that absolutely everyone and their mother ask, because they’re afraid of the omnipotent, omniscient Google beast. I personally consider them beyond beginner level, but I figured it was easier to write a post about this, then to answer the same question over and over.

    1. Is it bad if I get impressions from my own adsense?
NO. Google does not care. At all. No, not even if you have hundreds of your own impressions. Where would the internet be if webmasters couldn’t look at their own site? Just hoping that the design looked good? Never checking blog comments? Come on now, be realistic.
    2. I accidentally clicked my own ad. Am I getting banned?
No. You’re not. Don’t click it 400 times. You’ll be fine. I know this one from experience.
    3. Help! Google banned me? Am I getting paid?
Yes. The only people who have ever even had problems are those who do blatant adsense arbitrage(which pisses Google off more than anything else on AdSense). And even those people, most frequently STILL get paid.
    4. Should I log into my adsense from more than one computer?
Yes? Google doesn’t care. A massive portion of the internet is, or was recently on dial up. Dial Up changes IPs every single time they dial up. Don’t sweat it.
    5. Help! Some asshat is displaying MY adsense ads
That’s rough. I don’t know why they would do that. Thankfully, you have a lovely “allowed sites” option in adsense. Use it.
    6. Someone keeps clicking my ads, and Google is complaining about invalid clicks!
I would notify Google of it, explaining it wasn’t my doing. Then I would use a script that checks for various proxy-related headers. Use PHP to censor the adsense from appearing if those variables exist. 3 of the most common are HTTP-VIA, PROXY-CONNECTION, and X-FORWARDED-FOR.

I’ll add more as it comes. And if I know people, they will definitely come.
Just keep in mind. People get away with adsense arbitrage for years sometimes, making 2k+ every month. They really could care less about your $20.

And remember. Tomorrow. The best. Post. Ever.

PS: To everyone out there. I’m holding back a lot. When I start to see some subscriptions in my feedburner, I start to let y’all in on the juicy stuff.

Good article. Please tell whether any software is available which would not allow anyone person to click more than two ads on my adsense website.

      @Vinod:
      Sorry, but no.
Google keeps pretty good track of such tricks. And if they were out there, you can be sure people would keep them pretty quiet.
